SOSUNC dedica este mes a difundir su alcance, s\u00edntomas y tratamiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se puede controlar la evoluci\u00f3n de la diabetes por medio de cuatro pilares:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Educaci\u00f3n diabetol\u00f3gica: Est\u00e1 demostrado que las personas que toman un rol activo y se capacitan en la autogesti\u00f3n de la diabetes pueden evitar hasta el 80% de las complicaciones.<\/li><li>Rutina de cuidados: Comprende un plan alimentario equilibrado con porciones adecuadas, actividad aer\u00f3bica acorde a la edad y el abandono del tabaco para quienes son fumadores. SOSUNC cubre las consultas nutricionales al 100 por ciento, una herramienta fundamental para el autocuidado.<\/li><li>Tratamiento farmacol\u00f3gico: Abarca la medicaci\u00f3n v\u00eda oral o inyecciones de insulina, as\u00ed como el automonitoreo gluc\u00e9mico para detectar a tiempo si hay que hacer modificaciones.<\/li><li>Tratamiento de factores de riesgo: Es el cuidado adicional cuando la persona tambi\u00e9n padece de hipertensi\u00f3n, sobrepeso u obesidad, colesterol alto o tabaquismo.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color:#01114c\"><strong>Pie diab\u00e9tico, controles y vacunas<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Las personas con diabetes deben prestar especial cuidado a sus pies, con una revisi\u00f3n permanente de la planta, dorso y entre los dedos. Es necesaria la higiene diaria con agua y jab\u00f3n y un buen secado, usar calzado holgado y c\u00f3modo con medias blancas sin el\u00e1sticos ni costuras y evitar los callicidas o productos irritantes. Ante una m\u00ednima cicatriz o alteraci\u00f3n en la piel, u\u00f1as o surcos para-ungueales, acudir urgente a la consulta m\u00e9dica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n es importante cumplir con una o dos consultas odontol\u00f3gicas al a\u00f1o y una consulta oftalmol\u00f3gica anual. Adem\u00e1s, hacerse an\u00e1lisis de laboratorio peri\u00f3dicos y mantener las vacunas al d\u00eda, incluida la antigripal y contra el neumococo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Podemos frenar la epidemia de diabetes.
