Eleg\u00ed una vida sin VIH: hacete el test<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El 1 de diciembre, se conmemor\u00f3 el D\u00eda Mundial del SIDA, una enfermedad causada por el Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH). Desde SOSUNC, dedicaremos el mes de diciembre a recordar las acciones colectivas para poner fin a esta epidemia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qu\u00e9 diferencia hay entre VIH y SIDA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El VIH  es el virus que causa el SIDA (S\u00edndrome de Inmunodeficiencia Adquirida). Una persona con  VIH no siempre desarrolla SIDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25aa Si la persona portadora no sigue el tratamiento, el VIH puede destruir las c\u00e9lulas C4 o c\u00e9lulas T, fundamentales para el sistema inmunitario. Se diagnostica SIDA cuando el n\u00famero de estas c\u00e9lulas en el organismo es muy bajo y no hay una protecci\u00f3n adecuada ante infecciones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25aa Una persona con VIH que no realiza un tratamiento suele demorar 10 a\u00f1os en  desarrollar SIDA. Durante ese tiempo, puede transmitir el virus sin saberlo. Por eso, es fundamental que se haga el test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25aa Con el tratamiento de antirretrovirales, quien es portador del VIH convive con una carga viral muy baja, sin complicaciones en su salud ni riesgo de contagio a otras personas.<\/p>\n\n\n

C\u00f3mo descubre una persona  que tiene VIH<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El VIH puede ser asintom\u00e1tico. Las personas pueden tener el virus en su organismo por a\u00f1os sin saberlo. S\u00f3lo el test permite detectarlo. Es gratis y se realiza en cualquier hospital sin necesidad de ir en ayunas o llevar una orden m\u00e9dica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si\u00a0 estuviste en una situaci\u00f3n de riesgo, hay un per\u00edodo de incubaci\u00f3n de 3 meses antes de poder detectar el VIH en el laboratorio.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qu\u00e9 es la carga viral <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es un par\u00e1metro que se utiliza para identificar si una persona con\u00a0 VIH tiene posibilidad de transmitirlo. Una carga viral inferior a 20 copias por mililitro se cataloga como \u201cindetectable\u201d, lo que significa que tambi\u00e9n es “intrasmisible”, es decir, que no hay riesgo de contagio.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
